Portland International Jetport (PWM). Maine's largest airport is served by many major domestic and international carriers and is conveniently located just five miles from downtown Portland. The newly renovated facility offers a wide variety of ground transportation options as well as flight connections to other Maine destinations.

Greater Portland & Casco Bay by Bus
Concord Trailways. These buses provide daily service to and from Boston's South Station and Logan Airport and 12 Maine communities, including Portland, Brunswick, Bangor, Orono and a number of coastal towns. Concord Trailways is conveniently located at the Portland Transportation Center, where train, shuttle bus and other connections are available.

Greyhound/Vermont Transit
This line provides daily service from Bar Harbor (seasonal) Bangor, Waterville, Augusta, Lewiston, Brunswick, Portland and Wells to Boston's South Station with direct thru service to and from New York City.

METRO. This service operates within the Greater Portland Transit District and serves Portland, Westbrook and the Maine Mall area in South Portland. 207-774-0351

Portland Explorer. Express bus service between Portland's transportation terminals, area hotels, ferry terminals and Portland's historic Old Port waterfront district. 207-774-9891

ShuttleBus. Inter-city service between Biddeford and Portland, via Old Orchard Beach, Scarborough and the Maine Mall. 207-282-5408

South Portland Bus Service. Serving the South Portland, Portland and Maine Mall area. 207-767-5796.

Greater Portland & Casco Bay by Ferry
Casco Bay Lines - This municipal ferry line operates daily, year-round service between islands in Casco Bay, from its mainland terminal, the Maine State Pier, in Portland. Islands served by Casco Bay Lines include:
* Peaks
* Little Diamond
* Great Diamond
* Cliff
* Long Island
* Great Chebeague

Chebeague Transporation - The Chebeauge Transportation Company operates a ferry between Chebeague Island in Casco Bay and Cousins Island. Cousins Island is connected to mainland Yarmouth, Maine by a bridge. The ferry takes about 15 minutes each way.

Scotia Prince - The Scotia Prince leaves Portland's International Marine terminal in the evening at 8 PM EST and arrives in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, at 9 AM AST the next morning. Operated by Prince of Fundy Lines, the Scotia Prince carries up to 200 vehicles and is available from mid-May to mid-October.


Greater Portland & Casco Bay by Train
The Downeaster, Amtrak's sleek, new passenger train serving Northern New England, offers four round trips daily between the Portland Transportation Center and Boston's North Station, with eight stops in between.
