Along the Mid-Coast, travelers can expect to enjoy all of what has made Maine famous: panoramic water views, lighthouses and lobsters. Likewise, the transportation options in this region are equally impressive - from visiting the islands by ferry, to exploring towns and villages by bus or trolley.


Mid-Coast by Air
Knox County Regional Airport (RKD). Knox County Regional Airport is situated on the Rockland coast. It provides air access for passenger and cargo to the islands, as well as commercial passenger service to Boston, and several Maine locations.

Offers easy access to Maine's Mid-Coast region.


Mid-Coast by Bike
Cyclists touring the Mid-Coast region will enjoy graceful water views and picturesque fishing villages, along with a wealth of arts and entertainment offerings, historic lighthouses, museums and galleries. Click here for more information.


Mid-Coast by Bus
Bath Shuttle Bus - Serving the City of Bath.

Coastal Transportation (CTI) - Serving Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc Counties as well as Brunswick and Harpswell.

Concord Trailways. These buses provide daily service to and from Boston’s South Station and Logan Airport and 12 Maine communities, including Portland, Brunswick, Bangor, Orono and a number of coastal towns. Concord Trailways is conveniently located at the Portland Transportation Center, where train, shuttle bus and other connections are available. 800-639-3317

Greyhound/Vermont Transit. This line provides daily service from Bar Harbor (seasonal) Bangor, Waterville, Augusta, Lewiston, Brunswick, Portland and Wells to Boston’s South Station with direct thru service to and from New York City.

Waldo County Transportation. WCTP buses pick passengers up at their homes or at a designated pickup point on a route. Passengers may be dropped off and picked up at any medical facility or major shopping mall on routes traveled.

Mid-Coast by Ferry
Monhegan Boat Line. Departing from Port Clyde, Maine, this line provides year-round service to Monhegan Island.

Hardy Boat Cruises. Offering regular trips between New Harbor and Monhegan Island.

Maine State Ferry Service. Operated by the Maine Department of Transportation, provides fixed-route ferry service from Bass Harbor to Swans Island and Frenchboro. The Ferry Service operates year round.
