Green arrow The Merrymeeting Tour

Distance: 40 and 60 mile loops
Terrain: Rolling hills with one major climb

The scenery is magnificent on this pleasant, 60-mile ride. So is the history of the area that stretches back to pre-Revolutionary days when Maine was part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Take time to explore the historic towns of Bath and Wiscasset, both of which offer graceful old homes and a variety of shops.

Alternate 1 provides a shorter 40-mile ride avoiding the major ascent up Blinn Hill but including the scenic and historic features of Merrymeeting Bay and the Kennebec River. Many thanks to Davis Carver, owner of Bath Cycle and Ski, who suggested this excellent ride.
