Brunswick to Ellsworth
Distance: 187 miles.
On this 187-mile ride, cyclists travel from Midcoast Maine to Downeast Maine along the dramatic, rocky coast, through historic downtowns and bustling fishing villages, and deep into Maine's maritime past. In Bath, save time for a visit to the Maine Maritime Museum, which documents the state's rich shipbuilding heritage. The route winds through historic villages such as Day's Ferry on the Kennebunk River, Wiscasset, Sheepscot Village, Damariscotta, Thomaston, Rockland, Camden and Belfast - each well worth a visit, or perhaps an overnight at a coastal inn or campground. Plan to picnic at Pemaquid Light House or take a side trip to Owl's Head Light. The route ends in Ellsworth, gateway to Downeast Maine and beautiful Acadia National Park.
