Millinocket is a beautiful town set in the shadow of Mount Katahdin, Maine's largest mountain. It also serves as the main gateway to Baxter State Park. Millinocket is a four-season recreational area that recognizes the need to maintain a sustainable economy based on natural resources while protecting our very valuable environment.

"The Magic City," as it's called, features beautiful tree-lined streets, a wonderful community of fine people, stores and services. As a primary entrance to the Great North Woods, Millinocket is famous for great hunting and fishing for sportsmen and camping and hiking opportunities for families. It also offers excellent chances for photographers to get superb pictures of animals in the north Maine woods.

Millinocket is only 12 miles from Interstate 95, just over 1 hour from the Canadian border, 1 hour from Bangor, and 2 hours from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
